Impact Story: Bringing Light Through Free Eye Care for the Underserved

In the rural villages of Rajasthan, where access to basic healthcare remains a challenge, Dhanvantari Social Care Foundation is transforming lives through its free eye care initiatives. For elderly farmer Mohan Lal Ji, who had been slowly losing his vision to cataracts for years, our mobile eye camp became a turning point. “I could no longer tend to my fields or recognize my grandchildren’s faces,” he recalls. After a 15-minute surgery at our camp, Mohan’s sight was restored—and with it, his independence and livelihood.

Our monthly eye care camps provide:

  • 👁️ Free screenings, surgeries, and spectacles for those who cannot afford treatment

  • 🏥 Specialist care in remote areas through partnerships with ophthalmologists

  • 📊 5,840+ patients screened and 649+ sight-restoring surgeries performed to date

The ripple effects are profound:

  • 👨🌾 Farmers like Mohan return to work, securing their families’ futures

  • 👧 Children no longer miss school to guide blind relatives

  • 🧓 Elders regain dignity and connection with their communities

“I can see my wheat fields clearly again—this is God’s work through Dhanvantari,” Mohan says, his hands trembling as he stitches his own clothes for the first time in years.

This life-changing impact is only possible through compassionate support. Every ₹1,500 donated provides one sight-restoring surgery.

Dhanvantari's Livelihood Program & Changing Lives...

Impact Story: Stitching Hope – How a Sewing Machine Transposed Fatima’s Life

In the narrow lanes of Jaipur’s slums, Fatima, a 32-year-old widow and mother of two, struggled to make ends meet by working as a domestic helper. Earning just ₹150 a day, she often had to choose between feeding her children or paying their school fees—until Dhanvantari’s Livelihood Program intervened.

The Turning Point

In 2024, Fatima received a free sewing machine and 3-month tailoring training through our Women Empowerment Initiative. Within weeks, she began stitching clothes for her community. Today, she runs a small home-based boutique, earning ₹400–500 daily—enough to send both children to school and even save for their future.

“This machine didn’t just give me income—it gave me respect. Neighbors now call me ‘Master Ji’,” Fatima laughs, showing off the school uniforms she stitches for local children.

The Ripple Effect

  • 10+ women like Fatima trained this year, breaking cycles of poverty.

  • 20% income increase for families in our sewing program.

  • Community impact: Local schools now source uniforms from these women.

How We Made It Possible

  1. Skill Training: Partnered with tailoring experts for practical workshops.

  2. Tool Kits: Provided machines, threads, and design catalogs.

  3. Market Linkages: Connected women to shops and schools for orders.

“From surviving to thriving—one stitch at a time.”
